Filing for Supreme Court Appeal Against Stonewall
Earlier today, my lawyers filed an application in the Court of Appeal seeking permission to take my case against Stonewall to the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom.
Permission to appeal to the Supreme Court is granted only where there is an arguable point of law of general public importance which ought to be considered by the Court at that time. Such permission is granted rarely. The procedure requires that I first seek permission to appeal from the Court of Appeal.
I am extremely fortunate to have had the merits carefully assessed, and the application for permission drafted, by titans in this field.
The permission application is authored by Ben Cooper KC, Akua Reindorf KC and Anya Palmer, working with Peter Daly of Doyle Clayton Solicitors.
If the Court of Appeal refuses permission—as it frequently does—I will have 28 days to apply directly to the Supreme Court.
All best wishes
